Devilla Cottages, Rye

Devilla Cottages are located in Rye on the Mornington Peninsula about 98 kms from Melbourne, just over an hours drive. There are three different self contained properties, depending on size of group booking.

On the weekend, Ted and I stayed in “Devilla Opal” a two bedroom newly renovated cottage in a private peaceful setting with all modern conveniences, comfy lounge, fully equipped kitchen with new appliances, dining area and queen beds in both bedrooms. The Bathroom has a walk in shower, toilet and washing machine.

I loved the shady grassed and paved outdoor area with high secure fencing, an outdoor setting, BBQ and a dog kennel and water bowl. Dogs are also welcome inside, but not on the furniture. As well as dog friendly beaches and parks, the Peninsula also has many dog friendly cafes and restaurants.

Prices start from $125 (min 2 nights), contact: jo@devillacottages.com.au

Lake Benalla Walking Track

Our first overnight stop after leaving Warrnambool was Benalla. After spending the night at Benson House & Lodge – lovely pet friendly accommodation not far from the centre of town. The next morning Ted and I set off on the 5km walk around Lake Benalla. The walk takes in a bit of everything, beautifull lake views with lots of waterbirds, a long stretch of bush, past the art gallery, under the historic bridge. A great way to start the day, before the car trip to Adelong.
